Biography
I'm a 25 year old illustration/designer from Oxford in the UK. I've been doing digital artwork for about 5 years ago since picking up a copy of Photoshop at uni. After getting more and more interested in my work I quit my full time job as a web designer about 6 months ago to go freelance and am loving it.
Where do you work? What do you do there?
Answered above ^^
How long have you been in this field?
Answered above ^^
What role did (are) you play(ing) in the project?
Well being a freelancer means I do everything. Negotiate work, keep the clients informed, come up with the ideas and then execute them as best as I can. Then there’s all the boring admin and financial stuff as well...
What was (is) your inspiration for this project?
Well basically I needed a place to put my increasing number of Photoshop doodles online other than places like Deviantart. I also wanted to start doing tutorials and such back then although I've stopped that now. Since then it has turned into a way or making money and is basically a mixture between my personal and professional portfolio these days. I still love producing pictures for myself, but money has also become a pretty good inspiration to keep doing what I do ;)
What is in your equipment/gear setup?
I've got fairly meaty PC. Quad core processor, lots of RAM and hard drives, 30" monitor... all the trimmings really. I spend nearly all of my time in Photoshop but also use Illustrator quite a bit, and sometimes 3D packages if I need to.
What are some websites you visit daily?
BBC news
Depthcore
Deviantart
Cpluv
Facebook if I’m bored
Who's work do you most enjoy?
I find it very difficult to pick just one as there as so many people whose work I love... I would say that Jeff Soto is one of my favourites though.
What advice can you share to people just getting into this field?
If a picture doesn’t feel right, it isn’t right.
Any other comments?
Nope
