Overview
I visit Ron's blog multiple times a week. He is a nature photographer, with super skills. I love his shots, and the color he manages to pull into them. I myself love shooting, and Ron's work is very very inspiring. So stoked to have him on Muse!

http://www.my-photo-blog.com Biography
In the mid 1970's, at age 12, my parents moved from San Diego to interior Alaska in the area now known as the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Our move to this vast wilderness developed two passions that have stayed with me to this day, my love of the outdoors and my desire to capture the beauty of the natural world in photographs. In the wilderness, pursuing inspiring natural light is where I am most at home.
Our clients include such businesses as National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, Walt Disney World, Smithsonian, Continental Airlines, Alaska Airlines, National Park Service, Levi Strauss, Cadillac, Ford and a number of large advertising agencies to list a few. Aside from my own stock photo agency, Niebrugge Images, I am also represented by seven other stock agencies in six countries.
Where do you work? What do you do there?
Our office is located in the small coastal town of Seward, Alaska. At least a third of the year I’m in the field, usually in the western U.S or Canada.
How long have you been in this field?
Full-time, about 5 years. We worked part-time at the business for a number of years before going full time.
What role did (are) you play(ing) in the project?
I do all the photography, my wife Janine handles most the business and web issues and we hire part-time employees on an as needed basis.
What was (is) your inspiration for this project?
There are a number of photographers that have made me step back and say “wow”! The first was Ansel Adams – I loved looking at his photos when I was young. Thomas Mangelsen and the late Michio Hoshino amazed me with their wildlife photography, particularly their inclusion of wildlife in beautiful landscapes. Galen Rowell and Art Wolfe are also photographers I find inspirational.
In addition, my parents and their ability to make a living from my mom’s wonderful artwork have been an inspiration and role models on what it takes to make a successful living as an artist.
What is in your equipment/gear setup?
I use Canon digital cameras and PhotoShop on a PC.
What are some websites you visit daily?
http://www.naturescapes.net
http://www.naturephotographers.net
Who's work do you most enjoy?
Ansel Adams
Thomas Mangelsen
Gail Niebrugge
What advice can you share to people just getting into this field?
Work very hard and don’t ignore the business aspects of the industry.
Any other comments?
Thanks!
