Helio Vega
http://www.heliovega.com Biography
I'm a Spanish motion designer. When I finished High School I was looking for Art and Graphics Studios in Madrid. I have been playing around visual graphics since 1999. Now, I feel good doing style frames for any audiovisual work. I like communicate with simple concepts. I hope Life give me the opportunity to work many years in this profession as designer.
Where do you work? What do you do there?
Now I'm looking for the best place to work. Normally I do my job in the studio that offers me a motion project. I think some concepts and I design the style frames. After that, when clients approves the pitch I do the animation, but in this part I prefer do it in a group. I feel work with people is more interesting than do it by yourself.
How long have you been in this field?
This profession is been an evolution for myself. I inherited my mother's passion to be designer. I started in graphic/print design in 1999. I evolve to web design animation using Flash in the beginning of XXI century. Now I'm doing mostly motion design…Film design will be next? Nobody knows their destiny.
What role did (are) you play(ing) in the project?
I want be part of each section of the work process. I like think about the concept, do a brainstorming (day by day there are less time to do this with a group of creative) and I love do the style frames. In each project I'm improving my animation skills. This world of creations demand complete professionals who can do conceptual art, design and animation.
What was (is) your inspiration for this project?
There are many things that inspired me. Depending on how I feel the work that I'm doing.
I must be mind-heart relaxed to find a good concept that inspires me to do a good work.
What is in your equipment/gear setup?
I love Mac, but this doesn't mean I can't work in PC.
My work is not about workstation, hardware or software, is about concept and ideas. My work is about visual communication. If you catch ideas, you will find the way to explain it with whatever software.
What are some websites you visit daily?

Also, I visit the Spanish digital newspaper as

Who's work do you most enjoy?
Is not about the work of one person, there are many creative people that do incredible masterpieces.
I enjoy watch old/new movies, motion pieces and music. From Chris Cunningham, Kyle Cooper, David Fincher, Saul Bass to Joseph Kosinski, Darren Aronofsky, Alejandro González Iñárritu or Danny Yount. From Anders Schroder, Matt Pyke and Joost Korngold to Adam Gault, Onesize or Mate Steinforth. The work of Pleix, Psyop, Shylo, Prologue, Mac Guff, The Mill and 1stavemachine are really impressive. Mozart, Chopin, Aphex Twin and Moby are some of my favorite artists.
What advice can you share to people just getting into this field?
Try to learn something each single day, be persistent on what you want. Don't fear.
Any other comments?
