Adam Cruickshank
http://www.adamcruickshank.com/ Biography
I studied fine art at college and exhibited for a couple of years before i discovered i could make money as a designer. So I did that for about ten years, before recently deciding to spend more time on art and those projects i really want to work on, like tshirts and exhibitions.
Where do you work? What do you do there?
I work from a home and studio in Berlin after moving here from Melbourne recently. I'll be here for a few months before moving on.
How long have you been in this field?
Art? Ever since I was a kid I guess. But the website documenting my work is less than a year old. Although I did used to have
http://www.regularproduct.com/ for a few years before that.
What role did (are) you play(ing) in the project?
It's just me, in a room, surrounded by paper and pencils and paints and photocopies.
What was (is) your inspiration for this project?
It's just a collection of all the work I do.
What is in your equipment/gear setup?
At the moment (because i'm travelling) I'm using a black Macbook. But most of my equipment is paper, pencils, photocopies, lightboxes, glue, scalpels, notebooks and especially my camera.
What are some websites you visit daily?
I don't really visit any daily. Maybe
BBC weather to see when the snow is coming. I'm also research mad so I spend a bit of time on
wikipedia etc.
Who's work do you most enjoy?
That's a hard one. I like Tom Sachs work a lot, but he's just the one I can think of at that moment, there are dozens.
What advice can you share to people just getting into this field?
Stick with what you love to do, even if you have to do other stuff to maintain that love.
Any other comments?
Just thanks.
